Michael F. Baltaxe
Michael F. Baltaxe is an experienced trial lawyer with the firm Sottile Baltaxe. In an era when many attorneys have never appeared before a jury, Mr. Baltaxe has tried roughly 40 cases to verdict in jury trials and arbitrations. Having practiced law in southern California for nearly 30 years, Mr. Baltaxe has established a reputation as a polished trial lawyer, frequently called in to assist other attorneys on the eve of trial.
Mr. Baltaxe has substantial experience handling employment, personal injury, and civil rights cases. Since 1997, he has focused on employment cases, including race and gender discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, disability discrimination, whistleblowing, and wage-and-hour violations. Mr. Baltaxe is a lecturer on employment trial practice, and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer in Plaintiffs' Employment Law, since 2011. Furthermore, Mr. Baltaxe is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), one of the highest distinctions a trial lawyer can achieve.
In his free time, Mr. Baltaxe enjoys attending any and all UCLA sporting events and playing table tennis. Mr. Baltaxe was once a nationally recognized table tennis player, and earned the title as California’s “Doubles Champion” numerous times.
